Our Kitchen Updates!

This is the Pantry that Mark built.

The new color of our kitchen is Banana Split!

We love it.

Mark installed the new pantry door this past Saturday.

We're so happy with it.

Jonas LOVES to hide in it and lock the door so

Mommy and Daddy can't get in.

He's a little stinker!

It is a GREAT hiding place.

I LOVE my husband... and my kitchen.

Mint Chocolate Chip

A little bit of salt, a little bit of sugar, some milk

heavy whipping cream and half and half

give it a stir

along with some love and a smile (and some mint flavoring)

into the ice cream maker it goes...

who wouldn't want to be submerged in an ice bath 

on a hot summer day?!

churn for a while...

add some chocolate chips...  what do you have?!

Aiken's Touch-a-Truck

Every year Aiken holds the "touch a truck" event.  

Local trucks and other vehicles are parked at the park where 

families can come and climb around in the vehicles.

It's a BIG hit for kids of all ages!

Richardson's Lake Fun

Jonas loved using his goggles and splish - splashing at Richardson's Lake!

Our Little Summer Garden

The green beans, lettuce, potatoes, onions, beets 

and cucumbers are gone from our garden.

The summer heat has gotten the best of it all.

  

Our banana peppers and jalapeno peppers are VERY HAPPY 

in our now very weedy late-summer garden.  They like the heat!

They seem to thrive no matter what.

 

We're happy to see some red jalapenos - HOT!

Jonas loves to see what's growing in our garden.

Waiting for the Watermelon... we sure hope it's a sweet one!

SQUASH (otherwise known as squish:)  This is the first year we've grown any.

It's doing well so far.  They're certainly a keeper for us in next year's garden!

Happy 4th of July!

We had fun spending the afternoon and evening of the 4th at my Uncle Peter and Aunt Denise's cabin.  We had a great time being with family and having fun at the lake.
