Our Jonas

Jonas has really changed over the last six months!

He is now six years old!  I can't believe that.  I can remember his

birth like it was yesterday, although I know it's been six years because

of all of the fun we've had together.

Jonas wakes up in a happy mood most days.  He comes into our bedroom and sings 

"The Good Morning Song" which is a song I made up and have

sang to him since he was a baby.  He does everything he can to make us laugh

and loves when he can tell jokes to make people laugh!

(I need to find a joke book for him!)

Jonas is loving, kind, loves God, loves his family and friends, is full of energy, 

ALL BOY! (and did I say full of energy?)  

Jonas loves to pretend he's a lion and ROAR as loud as he can.  

He also loves to sit quietly and read books or watch a movie.  

Jonas has a great memory!  He memorized "The Going to Bed Book" 

a couple years ago- after I had read it to him for a long time and now recites it back.  

He now turns it into a silly story by changing certain parts of the story.  

He also sits next to me and tells the story to his baby sister.  (I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant)

Jonas loves to swim, run, jump, skip, jump on his Pogo-stick, ride his bike, play with

the neighbors dog and puppy, play with his friends, loves to read and write, draw pictures, 

color with markers, paint, and just plain loves to have fun in every way possible.

Jonas had a little party at the park with a couple close friends this year.  He had a wonderful time with them!

His birthday was this past weekend and we had Grandpa Fred, Grandma Judy,

Uncle Josh, Auntie Kim, his cousin Olivia and Mark and I there to celebrate.  As we

were sitting eating our taco dinner he told Kim and Josh that he 

was so happy that they came to his party 

and THEY were HIS BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT!

I really love how he can speak his heart fully when he wants to!

I can really see the love of Jesus coming through our sweet little boy.

I'm looking forward to seeing how he grows and changes over the year ahead.

I know, for a fact, that he is going to be a WONDERFUL big brother.

Oh, and he's growing like a weed! (if I can repeat what my parents used to say to me!)

We sure are happy to have been blessed with such a sweet little boy.

We invited a couple friends to play at the park and

help us celebrate Jonas' birthday.

He's so excited to have his friends here!!

We're so happy and thankful that some of our friends and family could help us celebrate 

and are looking forward to more fun this weekend!

His New Friend

No, we did not get a puppy.  Jonas wishes we had

but he's happy to have a new friend.  If even for just a few weeks.

Our neighbors woke up one day to find her at their doorstep.

She has not left the yard and they are taking care of her in hopes

that her owners find her.  If not, she will soon be brought to be adopted.

She was checked out at the vet's office before the

neighbors decided to care for her. 

Jonas has had some fun running with her, teaching her

to climb steps and much more!  He's had lots of fun

with his new friend.

We had lots of fun visiting with the animals at the Savannah 

Ecology Site and then headed downtown for Aiken's Arts Alive!

After painting a pet rock and watching a puppet show, we

headed home for dinner and some good rest after this super fun day!

Renovation Update

Jonas was able to help Grandpa by painting the registers 

for our hallway.  He had a great time being a "big helper".

14 years of Happiness... and counting!

For our anniversary this year, Mark's parents watched Jonas

so we could go out on a date!  We enjoyed time together...

along with some very yummy food from Tako Sushi!

Mark insisted on a baby belly picture.  Not sure why I don't like taking these, but isn't 

our sweet baby girl "bump" cute?!  :)  We can't wait for her to be born!!!

and having some fun :)
