Pictures on the Drive

Jonas and I decided to draw some pictures.

We've been having fun playing with the chalk lately.

Jonas is exploring new ways to draw people.

He also really loves to start every picture with a very large circle!

Kitchen Floor Update

We finished our kitchen floor last weekend and here's what it looks like!!

Taking the appliances out - reusing old flooring

New flooring - solid red oak floor

finished laying it out & nailing it in

Complete with Jonas' approval! :)

Monster Truck Fun!

Jonas asked if he could have a Monster Truck birthday party this year.

He also asked his Daddy if he would make a cake with Monster trucks on it.

We said sure! This is how it went:

after sitting in the fridge to cool, it got a road made

soon be "crushed" by Monster Trucks!

Now... on to the party!

After the kids arrived, they all ran over to the fence

to greet the neighbors' dog, Forest

They all had a great time playing on the new swing set,

in the sand box, in the yard as well as in the house!

After a make-it-yourself taco lunch, it was time to sing.

Happy Birthday to you! Jonas loved having his friends over.

After everyone left, we sat and played with toys for a while, cleaned up

and had some fun watching his new DVD with the monster trucks on it.

Then we decided to get them all together.

Here's "The line up"

I could not believe how many monster trucks he was given! He loved it...

and no two trucks were the same. He received wonderful gifts, great cards as well as some fun

drawings from his friends. Most of all, he is blessed to have a great bunch friends.

It was a really fun day for all of us.

Happy 4th Birthday, Jonas!!

Jonas' 4th Birthday

We had a play group at our house on Jonas' birthday this past Thursday.

Our friends came over around 10 to play in the yard and shared some cupcakes

with us. They sang Happy Birthday to Jonas and everyone had a great time.

It was a little breezy so I had a hard time lighting the candles.

Once they finally stayed lit, he was able to blow them out. :)

Later Jonas was able to open gifts from his Auntie Kim and Uncle Josh

He got a fun dragon card

And a precious moments elephant with a "4" on him. He loves

to keep him in his room. He takes him down and talks to him.

He is actually part of his "birthday train" collection - all of the animals hook together.

The pack of puzzles are a lot of fun. His favorites are the

dog and cat so far. The puzzles have a picture on the left and

the word on the right. He finds the lower case letters to make the word.

Melissa and Doug make some great kid's puzzles! Thank you!! :)

Later he had fun opening his very first guitar.

Buzz Lightyear! We had no idea Buzz Lightyear

had a guitar before we saw it in the store, but it was a hit!

Meet: Buzz Lightyear Jonas

I have been wanting to pick up something for him to dress up in

and play in. This was the perfect thing. It will be nice to have

for trick or treating this year, too! Jonas loved it, of course.

Who wouldn't want a suit with a laser on the arm?!

He also got the flying pack for on his back. It's a fun one!

After playing at home for a while we took Jonas out for his birthday dinner at a local Hibachi grill.

We thought it would be fun since the chefs play around with the food and put on a show. As it turns out, Jonas is not fond of the flames! We won't do that again... but we did have some great food!

Jonas loved the fried rice, shrimp and white sauce.

If you've ever been to a place like this, you know that the chef enjoys throwing some kind of food at the customer (to catch in their mouth) Well... Jonas didn't want to and the chef didn't know why! Until... the older boy across the table caught a shrimp in his mouth! Jonas thought that was pretty neat, so he gave it a try. He had fun trying to catch some shrimp in his mouth!

Many tries, but not one shrimp made it into his mouth. Oh well!

In the car Jonas said "Mommy, I did a shrimp catch game" He did have some fun with it!
