"Scare" Crow

Yes, we've planted our spring garden very early this year!  

It's been a nice warm winter and spring.. that we've really been enjoying.

We had the garden planted by the end of February and decided we needed

a scare crow.  Mark and Jonas created him.  He isn't very "scary" but 

he's doing a great job of keeping the birds out of our garden!

Happy Valentine's Day!

One of my sweethearts enjoyed homemade 

cinnamon and sugar heart buns for breakfast this Valentine's Day.  

The rest of his day was filled with valentine fun at school and 

more happy surprises when he came home...

 including a heart hunt around the house!  

It was so easy to do and he loved it.  I waited until we were pulling 

into the driveway before I told him about the heart hunt.  His first hearts to find were

in the windows and on the door.  I included sweet messages that he could read 

on some of the hearts.  It's fun to make life fun when we can, isn't it?!  

We ended our day with a special family dinner at home.  

We love you, Jonas!!

MONSTER JAM!!

Mark organized a trip to Monster Jam, in Columbia, for the guys at church.

Jonas was super excited and couldn't wait to see it all.

It was their first time going and was going to be a great day!

They are ready for their fun day of Monster Trucks...

After the 40 minute drive to Columbia, they arrived at the arena. 

Let the MONSTER JAM fun begin!  It was pretty crowded down there.

They had fun checking out the awesome Monster Trucks before the show.

The Augusta Canal Boat Tour

During a recent visit, Mark's parents joined us on a boat tour

of the Augusta Canal.  It was a weekday 

so we had the boat all to ourselves!

Jonas was very interested in the other side of the boat and

asked the guide lots of questions after getting a little too close to the edge :)

It was a chilly day so we had to bundle up!

Jonas loved the bridge for bikes!  We'll need to check that out sometime.

The Crock Center

After the canal tour we headed inside (some of us

took a little longer by going backwards) to check out the museum.

When we went inside, I had a nice visit with some of the workers... : )

He was the happiest!

He had a really long day on the job.

Seriously, Jonas had a great time learning and pretending today!

There was a lot more to see at the museum but

we didn't get pictures because we were having

too much fun listening to the stories and interactively learning

how everything was created and works at the canal.

It was a great little adventure!

Ice Skating - for real!

Back in December we went to a winter carnival and 

Jonas was able to ice skate on pretend ice.  He

was very excited when I told him we were going

to meet our friends at the local ice rink in Augusta!

I don't know if I ever wore a helmet while skating, but

we figured, why not?

He picked up on it pretty quickly and had a great time!

It's a little tricky for Mom to take pictures of him

since I haven't been on ice skates in a LONG time. 

It was worth it though!

He wasn't bothered when he fell.

They also provided these neat "walkers" to help

the kids practice balancing.

So much fun with friends!!

Just in case you're wondering... he didn't want to leave!

It was another great adventure day with our friends.
