It was a big job that day and they both accomplished much!

The fridge surround cabinet is so big, he needed to build it inside the kitchen.

Done!  Time to move the fridge into it's new home.

The Fruits of Our Labor

OUR little GARDEN

has given us SO much!

We're so blessed to be able to have a garden here in SC!

We love our bell peppers...

And enjoyed a few ears of corn too!

the jalapenos are small, spicy and wonderful- especially when filled with cream

cheese and topped with bacon and some other goodness!

 the tomatoes are red, juicy and delicious as well. 

(I would post pictures but we've either eaten them,

made spaghetti sauce or blts out of them or frozen them!)

Thank God for Our little Garden!

Pandamania

This was Jonas' first year being in Vacation Bible School.

It was Pandamania!  "God is Wild about You!"

Our little panda was a little shy going in at first, but then he saw this big panda and had fun pretending!

Bible School was at First Presbyterian Church where he attends preschool. 

I think it helped him... he liked knowing his way around.

The kids learned alot about how God is Wild about them and everyone else this week through

crafts, games, snacks and music! Our little guy learned a lot of fun songs and still sings along with them on the CD that we picked up. At the end of the week all of the kids in the program performed for the parents.

So thankful for this program... it was a great week!

Blueberry Picking

We had the great opportunity to go blueberry picking near our home this year!  The berries were absolutely wonderful!  I received a great tip from a fellow mom and we went as a family one Saturday morning. 

There was a different kind of blueberry every two rows!  We had fun

tasting them all to decide which we liked the best.

Jonas enjoyed the berries and watched some little spiders and other

bugs on the plants. 

YUM!!!!

We ate some and put the rest in our freezer.  We've been enjoying them

on cereal, in pancakes, muffins, smoothies... ah, the possibilities are endless!

We LOVE Blueberries.

We visited Chick-Fil-A during their "Cow Appreciation Day" and had the opportunity to dress up like a cow.  (Unfortunately I was not able to get any pictures of my costume)   :) 

Jonas had a great time dressing like a cow and enjoying his favorite food with friends! 

When we dressed up as the Chick fil A cows, we were able to get a free meal, along with all the fun! 

Mmm!  The sign on his shirt says "Eat Mor Chikin"

Just a Bunch of Animals

Yes, we visited the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC!

Jonas and I had a great time exploring the zoo with our neighbor friends.

Jonas followed his map to the Flamingos

Then we headed inside to the penguin exhibit where

Jonas found some great rocks to climb on!

Next we visited the bird sanctuary where

Jonas was able to feed them nectar!

We didn't think we'd have a chance to feed the birds because

there were a lot of people feeding that just left.

Jonas was patient and very happy when the bird came

down and drank from his cup! 

Good things do come to

those who WAIT.

Sneak peek at the Elephants before the rain

It rained for about 15 minutes while we were in one of the buildings.

When it stopped, we took the train over to the botanical gardens.

At the far end of the gardens, they found this great BIG chair

and this kid sized house!

Just beyond the house... we found this trail.

It was a day for adventures!

Jonas found a cool bridge

And a BIG rock to climb

After the long hike we found a cabin that was the site of the

old Saluda Cotton Factory.  Hugs!

There were pictures and documentation with the history of the site.

It will be a neat place to visit again when Jonas is older.

The old foundation that still remains is really amazing.

On our way back down another path (that we hoped led us back)

Jonas found more rocks to climb.  We could see the river through the trees!

We found our way back to the road and walked back to the zoo.

It was a really nice day since it rained and cooled off!

We made it back in time for a ride.  Jonas chose his favorite animal!
