Super Bowl Weekend

On Sunday, we celebrated "Souper" Bowl Sunday at Church

All of the children brought a can of soup for the local food bank.

We collected A LOT of soup & other canned goodies that day!

After naps, we went over to our friends' house for dinner, 

Wii & a little of the game.  It was a great weekend!!

Jonas had a blast playing the drums at a friends house!

He's "all boy" here.  A few days later and he became...

He got into my purse... and swiped..

Yes, he found my lipstick AND put it on!  

I HAD to take a picture.

We had a chat about how boys don't wear lipstick.

He has his own lip balm now that he loves to 

put in his pocket.  I have to admit, it is pretty funny!!

Later that day (after the lipstick had been washed off)

I found Jonas reading his book in the sun room.

I had to sneak a picture of that precious sight.

Jonas loves Grapefruit!!

Jonas' first taste of grapefruit was the beginning of 

February this year & he loves it!!

Sprinkled with a little sugar ...

(he takes after his Mommy), and it's delicious.

Our house renovations - Kitchen & Office

January 8th, we decided to start on our kitchen renovation.

This is BEFORE...

and AFTER...

Breaking way to get into our new pantry!

Look at all the room once the closets are out.

The ceiling had to come down, too

Now we're going to take the studs out & put

sheet rock up on the walls. 

Our next phase in the kitchen will begin within

the next month or so.

This is the latest on our Office/Guest Room/Hobby Room!! 

Is that called a Multi-purpose room??  Ok- we don't have an official name..

Previously, we replaced all of the dark, wood paneling with new

sheet rock.  Recently, Mark mudded & sanded & now it's time for

the primer.  It took 2 gallons.  Jonas LOVED helping

with this job.

Jonas painted the ceiling

and the walls...

And himself!

And the primer phase is complete!!!

The final phase is "pillow mint" colored paint, finishing the electrical & trim!

I'll update with those pictures when the room is done.

(Hopefully this week!)

First Dentist Visit - January 6th, 2010

such a good job on his first check up!

EdVenture - Columbia, SC

We went to this children's science museum just after the New Year with some dear friends. 

We had a GREAT time! 

Meet "Ed Venture"  He's so big we climbed up to the top and slid down through the inside!! 

He's a great learning tool & super fun.

At one of the exibits they had, Jonas rode a camel and played the bongos.  He loved it!

Next, we visited a TV Station where he was able to be the news broadcaster - see him on the television?

We also visited "Snowville" where he slid down the snowy mountain

He also learned how to ice fish.  (it's magnetic fishing!)  They even had a little ice shack to rest in.

Jonas enjoyed being a fire fighter too!  He put the boots & jacket on before he hopped into

the drivers seat of this full-size fire truck!  These pictures are just a sampling of the fun we had that day.

It was a great day at EdVenture.  We will be back again for sure!
